Tasting

A beautiful intense ruby colour, with some subtle poppy red reflections.
It has a pretty discreet nose of blackcurrant buds and peony. The wine is fresh and delicate on the palate, with fruity notes of redcurrant.

Ideal to accompany grilled meats of a great meal of chicken.

Château La Claymore produces a second wine named CADET, a wine with young aromas that will seduce you with its elegance

The vineyard

All of our plots are cultivated with the respect for environment and full expression of the terroir:  low level of treatment, frequent tillage, systematic leaf-thinning, green harvesting, sorting table.
The “younger brother” of Château la Claymore is made from the young vines of the estate under 12 years, planted at the foot of the hillside on medium and heavy clay soils, and giving wines with palpable fruity notes (red berries), supple on the palate with a fresh finish..

Two grape varieties:   MERLOT mostly, CABERNET FRANC

The wine

Wine making process is made without the use of SO2, under temperature control during fermentation and maceration. Grape must tasted and selected for CADET, after the running off and pressing, ages partly in tanks (80%) and partly under alternative oak (staves).

Bottled after 18 months’ ageing, CADET is available in 75cl Bordeaux bottles.
